    Take a trip back to your childhood with this deliciously customizable dessert.


    • 1 cup Uncle Ben’s® Converted® Brand Original Long Grain Rice (or 3 cups of precooked rice)
    • 1⁄4 tsp. salt
    • 3 cups whole milk
    • 2 cups half and half
    • 1⁄2-2/3 cups sugar
    • 1 1⁄4 tsp. vanilla extract
    • 1 cinnamon stick


    1. Add rice and salt to a medium saucepan with 2 1⁄4 cups of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low to simmer, cover and cook for 20 minutes, until the water is absorbed.
    2. Add milk, half and half, sugar, and cinnamon stick to the pan with cooked rice over medium heat and bring to a simmer, reduce heat to medium-low and slowly simmer, stirring occasionally for about 30 minutes, until it begins to thicken.
    3. Reduce heat further to low and continue cooking about 15 minutes, stirring every few minutes, until thickened to your desired consistency. Remove from heat, add the vanilla and serve warm or chill and serve cold.
    4. Store any unused portion in the refrigerator with the surface covered directly with plastic wrap to prevent a skin forming.
