    About this dish

    Cai and Shavon looked at a couple of other recipes but ultimately decided on this one because it was easy and delicious. Like most families, they are always busy doing this or that so having meals that are fast and healthy is always a plus.

    Ingredients

    • 2 pouches UNCLE BEN’S® READY RICE® Whole Grain Brown
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
    • 1 pound turkey sausage, sliced
    • 1 garlic clove, minced
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • ¼ teaspoon pepper
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 cup chicken broth
    • Fresh parsley to garnish

    Instructions

    1. Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic to skillet and sauté for 1 minute.
    2. Add onions and green peppers to skillet and sauté until tender.
    3. Add turkey sausage and chicken broth to skillet, turn heat to high and bring to a boil.
    4. Add salt, pepper, rice and stir.
    5. Lower the temperature to medium-low, cover and let cook for 5 minutes.
    6. Remove from heat and let it stand until liquid is absorbed.
    7. Garnish with parsley and serve.
