About This Dish

Fill your kitchen with the tempting aroma of these Italian-style fried rice balls. In about 20 minutes, your family will be enjoying a mouth-watering recipe that also features the smoky flavor of Johnsonville® Split Rope Sausage.


  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, diced small
  • 1/4 cup jarred roasted red peppers, drained and diced
  • 1 rib of celery, diced small
  • 1 pouch UNCLE BEN’S® READY RICE® Original Long Grain
  • 1 link Johnsonville® Smoked Split Rope Sausage, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs, divided
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil


  1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in large sauté pan over medium heat. Add onion, roasted red peppers and celery. Sauté until onions are brown and soft.
  2. While vegetables are cooking, prepare rice according to package instructions.
  3. Add the sausage to the vegetables and cook until sausage has browned.
  4. Add the rice from the pouch and mix well.
  5. Transfer mixture to a bowl and let cool.
  6. Add salt, pepper, Parmesan cheese, eggs and 1/3 cup bread crumbs to mixture and combine.
  7. Form into 3-ounce patties and coat in remaining bread crumbs.
  8. In a large skillet, heat 1/4 cup vegetable oil.
  9. Pan fry each patty (Arancini) in hot oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  10. Serve as is or with dipping sauce of your choice.
