    About this dish

    Bring a taste of New Orleans to your dinner table with this hearty chowder! Andouille sausage adds rich flavor, complemented by Cajun seasoning, corn, heavy cream, and brown rice. 

    Ingredients

    • 1 package (15.3 ounces) Johnsonville® Andouille Split Rope Sausage, diced
    • 1 small onion, diced
    • 1 red bell pepper, diced
    • 1 can corn (15.25 ounces)
    • 1 garlic clove, minced
    • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
    • 1 chicken or vegetable bouillon cube
    • 3 cups heavy cream
    • 1 pouch UNCLE BEN’S® READY RICE® Whole Grain Brown
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon black pepper

     

    Instructions

    1. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add sausage and sauté until browned. Remove sausage and set aside.
    2. In same pan, add in onions, red bell pepper, corn, garlic and Cajun seasoning. Sauté until onions are soft.
    3. Add in sausage, bouillon cube and cream. Stir to combine and simmer on low 15 - 20 minutes.
    4. Prepare rice according to package instructions.
    5. Add the rice from the pouch and stir to combine.
    6. Season with salt and pepper.
    7. Serve.
