Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent rice I love this rice since my childhood. We always mostly use it for rice pilaf in which my French grandfather handed the recipes to my mom and then to me. We have a special French casserole dish or any type of pan to trip all the steam. I remember as a child I would peek underneath and they could tell I looked by the way the holes were seen when they took the lid off. NO MORE Peeking for me. Lover it with everything. All meals. Its my stable for these terrible times..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from COOKING MEASUREMENTS: In QUANTITY This is on the FAQ page : Use the following measurements for large quantity cooking Original Rice | Water | Salt | Serving cups (8 oz.) / Serving (4 oz. or ½ cup) 2 cups 5 cups 1 Tbsp. 8 cups 16 4 cups 10 cups 2 Tbsps. 16 cups 32 6 cups 15 cups 3 Tbsps. 25 cups 50 8 cups 20 cups ¼ cup 34 cups 68 10 cups 25 cups ⅓ cup 44 cups 88 12 cups 30 cups 6 Tbsps. 54 cups 108 **If there is too much water, the heat was too low or the rice did not boil for an adequate amount of time. The consumer can drain off the excess. If there is not enough water, the flame/heat was too high during the boiling process, the saucepan was too large and it caused an excessive evaporation of water. They can add more water and cook longer. Too large a pan used causing excessive evaporation of water. Use smaller pan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rice is horrible! The rice took over 45 minutes to cook. I honestly don’t even think that was enough time because the rice still tased hard and like plastic.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Microwave instructions and rice not as good qualit Microwave instructions: same rice and water proportions as on box microwave covered 8 minutes on ,then 10 minutes at 50%power. Fluff with a fork. I saved this from a old box and taped it to my storage container. Also I have noticed a decline in the quality of the rice over the past year..black pieces etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best. I love rice and only use Uncle Ben's long grain regular options, none quick or instant versions. The secret to dry, fluffy white rice is to rinse it until cool water runs clear and all surface starch is removed, pour I cp of rice to 2 cups of salted boiling water (3-4 servings) with 2T OO or sweet butter, pour into 2 cps boiling water, boil down until it just begins to barely bubble on top, lightly fluff, cover and move to lowest heat for 10 minutes. Do not stir again until the end. This should result in dry, fluffy delicious rice. This rice makes for a fabulous party salad while warm with as good Italian dressing (just enough to moisten,) adding roughly chopped green onions, celery, softened carrots, capers, crisp veggies of your choice, decorate with egg slices, cherry tomatoes, etc.. Leave at room temperature for several hours for ultimate flavors to absorb. Use your imagination. Yum! Whole Brown rice, follow box directions, but bring to a fast boil for 2-4 minutes then follow rest of box directions. This drys and fluffs up the rice best. Sorry, don't have photos.
