    Cooking instructions

    1. Squeeze READY RICE® Long Grain & Wild Rice pouch to separate rice.
    2. Tear 2 inches to vent.
    3. Heat on HIGH for 90 seconds.
    4. Serve immediately.

    Cooking time for 2 pouches = 2½ minutes. Microwave times may vary. Take care when handling and opening the hot pouch. Refrigerate unused portion.

    In the skillet

    1. Gently squeeze the sides of the pouch to break apart the rice and pour contents into a skillet. Add 2 Tbsp. of water and heat.
    2. Stir rice occasionally until heated thoroughly.
    3. Serve immediately.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I make this all the time. I love it. I don't like to fuss so I simply hit the 1 button on our microwave and then the 30 second button after it dings! Perfect Long Grain & Wild without a fuss! I use to make the 25 minutes kind, but I likely won't now that I have this quick & easy option. I'm not sure why some people's are coming out right, but I've likely made this 50 times without an issue. Even when I forgot to vent once, it came out fine, although the top did sort of pop open when the steam built up.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rice I am from Louisiana and I know how to cook rice. I bought this on a whim as something different to try and we LOVE it! I will definitely buy more. The 90 second cooking time is especially appealing and since we are empty nesters, the portion size is perfect. I am sorry to read some of the reviews because my experience is so positive, I will definitely suggest it to others.

I just made the long grain and wild as a quick meal replacement and loved it. It's not mushy, and looks exactly like it does on the package. I'm going to buy a few of these and keep in my desk at work for emergencies.

Sadly, our grocery (Safeway) no longer even carries the original recipe, 25 minute slow cook Uncle Ben's Long Grain and Wild Rice. This 90-second version is not good. Soggy, bloated kernels, with washed out flavor, and all the same washed out brown color. It is a both a "blah" eating and "blah" visual experience. Please bring back the tasty, variegated orignal! 25 minutes is not too long to wait. Unfortunately, we will not buy this instant version again.

    Rated 1 out of 5 by from Uncle Ben's Wild Rice I have used Uncle Ben's Wild Rice for 50 years. Now all of a sudden, it is Ready Rice (microwave). I hate the taste & the smell. When you make a major change, do you ask people who are not connected to the company test the product? Even my son hates it & he eats everything. First purchased this product in TX & now that I am home also unable to find it in a box.

I wanted to try this as a side dish for our meal tonight, and after following the directions and seeing this, I was not only disappointed, but absolutely disgusted! There’s nothing in this bowl that resembles the photo on the front! Nothing! I’m not sure what needs to change on the company’s quality control aspect, but something needs to!!!

We like long grain and wild rice, but not when the flavor of the wild rice is completely destroyed by the unpleasant spices. in addition, the white rice cooks up as a mushy mass of yuck! I will not buy anything from “Uncle Ben” again. The rice I make in the microwave has a texture and flavor far superior to this terrible product.
