Ingredients
| 1 1/2 | cups UNCLE BEN’S® Fast & Natural™ Whole Grain Instant Brown Rice |
| 5 | Granny Smith apples peeled and sliced |
| 1 | can evaporated skim milk (13 oz.) |
| 1/4 | cup butter |
| 3/4 | cup maple syrup |
| 1/2 | tsp. nutmeg |
| 1/4 | tsp. cinnamon divided |
| 1/8 | tsp. mace |
| 1 | Tbsp. brown sugar |
| 1/2 | cup flour divided |
| 1/2 | cup sugar |
Instructions
1. Cook rice according to package instructions and set aside.
2. Peel and slice the apples.
3. Combine the milk, maple syrup, brown sugar, 1/8 tsp. cinnamon, nutmeg and one half of the flour. Bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer until the flour taste is cooked out. Be careful not to scorch.
4. Place the rice in the bottom of a large casserole dish; place the sliced apples on top of the rice.
5. Pour the milk mixture over the apples.
6. Combine the sugar, the other half of the flour, butter, mace and remaining cinnamon to make a crumble and sprinkle on top of the apples. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake another 15 minutes.
7. Serve with whipped cream
