At UNCLE BEN’S®, we are dedicated to finding ways to use our resources to improve local communities and assist people in need.
Whether it’s donating products as part of disaster relief efforts or providing hungry children with free food and nutritional education, we believe it’s important to find ways to make a difference in the lives of people across the United States and around the world.
In September 2007, UNCLE BEN’S® partnered with Feeding America®—the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief organization—to help fight hunger, and built UNCLE BEN’S® first KIDS CAFE® inside the Boys and Girls Club of Greenville, MS. Through the end of 2009, we opened a total of 16 KIDS CAFE® locations across the United States, and by the end of 2010, there will be a total of 20 UNCLE BEN’S®-sponsored KIDS CAFE® locations.
KIDS CAFE® programs provide free meals and snacks to low-income children through a variety of community locations where children already congregate—such as Boys & Girls Clubs, churches or public schools. In addition to providing meals to kids, all KIDS CAFE® programs also offer a safe place, where under the supervision of trustworthy staff, a child can get involved in educational, recreational and social activities.
We are very excited to be able to provide free meals and snacks to children throughout the United States, so we continue our work to raise money for Feeding America®, and continue to open additional KIDS CAFE® locations around the country.
