At UNCLE BEN’S®, we are dedicated to finding ways to use our resources to improve local communities and assist people in need.
Whether donating products as part of disaster relief efforts or providing hungry children with free food and nutritional education, we believe it’s important to find ways to make a difference in the lives of people across the United States and around the world.
Last summer we partnered with Feeding America™, the nation’s largest hunger-relief organization, to help fight hunger and build a Kids Cafe inside the Boys and Girls Club of Greenville, MS. In September 2007, we proudly opened the first official UNCLE BEN’S® Kids Cafe. Since then, we opened a Kids Cafe in Los Angeles, California and in September 2008 we’ll open a Kids Cafe in Chicago, Illinois.
The Kids Cafe program is the most expansive program of its kind in the nation. By providing children with a safe place to eat a healthy meal and get involved with educational, recreational and social activities under the supervision of trustworthy staff, the Kids Cafe program also serves as a critical support system for low-income families.
We are very excited to be able to provide free meals and snacks to children in the Greenville area who need our help. However, we want to put an end to hunger throughout the U.S., so we will continue working to raise money for Feeding America™, and open additional Kids Cafe locations around the country.
