There are two kinds of cholesterol. The first, LDL, is known as the "bad"
cholesterol. Too much LDL can clog your arteries, increasing your risk of
heart attack and stroke.
The second, HDL, is known as the "good" cholesterol.
Your body makes HDL cholesterol for your protection as HDL carries the bad
cholesterol away from your arteries.
Studies suggest that high levels of HDL
cholesterol reduce your risk of heart attack.
Cholesterol can enter your body in two ways. Your body makes some of it on
its own and the rest comes from cholesterol from foods you eat.
Foods that
contain cholesterol typically are meats, poultry, fish, eggs, butter, cheese
and whole milk. Foods like fruits, vegetables, cereals and rice have no cholesterol.
Several Uncle Ben's® products qualify for the American Heart Association certification, meeting its guidelines for healthy eating; they're low in cholesterol, saturated
